As a member of the Industrial Liaison Group, Chris Tunbridge, Managing Director of BLB Surveyors, is a regular contributor to the Built Environment Department at The University of Brighton. He also provides lectures and seminars on such topics as Procurement Options and Contractual Alternatives.

"I am personally very proud of our association with The University of Brighton and very much enjoy working with the students and hopefully providing them with an insight into the real world of surveying."

In further support of the Built Environment Department, BLB Surveyors recently provided sponsorship for the end of year prizegiving ceremony. Our prize was for the best student in the Building Surveying exclusive module at level 3 which was won by David Dunwoody.

We look forward to continuing our work in support of the department and wish David the best of luck in his new career.

Fascinating Assignment for Bee L Bee

The University of Sussex has recently completed a £250,000 facility on the edge of their campus at Falmer dedicated to honeybee biology and beekeeping. Students will be offered the first degree in beekeeping which will also include the study of other 'social' insects such as ants and wasps.

Bee Workshop

In addition to producing honey and wax, honeybees are major pollinators of agricultural and wild plants and many important biological questions can be studied in this one species.

BLB Surveyors provided Building Surveying Services during the construction of the unit, which comprises apiaries, a research laboratory, offices, a workshop and space for 10 observation bee hives.
