New Simulation Suite for Worthing Hospital

A mannequin nicknamed Henry is helping to revolutionise training for staff at Worthing Hospital. The new state-of-the-art dummy SimMan 3G can mimic the way a human acts during illness and treatment. SimMan 3G forms the centrepiece of a new Simulation Suite at Worthing Hospital which can be set up as an operating theatre, A&E Dept or ward.

The creation of the new Post Graduate Medical Centre (PGMC) Simulation Suite, Observation Room and Control Room for medical training at Worthing Hospital involved alterations to the existing floor layout in order to replicate a ward environment for trainee health care professionals using the 'SimMan' to practice emergency treatment on patients. The suite was designed using acoustic partitions with inset one-way vision glazing and is equpped with state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment.

The offices were transformed for the event into various art installations provided by Involuntary Park. Guests were invited to participate by 'drawing on the walls' and by adding their comments to the 'BLB Time Line' which spanned from our establishment in 1904 to the present day and included the memorable events that have shaped BLB into the company it is today.

Chris Oakley, Chris Gilbert & Chris Tunbridge

Chris Tunbridge, Managing Director of BLB, was delighted with the reaction to the event:

"We had been looking for new premises for several years having outgrown our former offices. Our staff and directors have all worked extremely hard to achieve this move without disruption to the business or the services we provide for our clients. Tonight is a celebration of that effort and it really is wonderful to see so many people here.

We are looking forward to continuing our working relationships with our existing clients and further developing our business by fostering relationships with new clients and consultants on projects where we can make a positive contribution."
